About me

Hi! I’m Diana. My pronouns are she/they and I’m glad you’ve found my website!

I was born three months’ premature, and I’m ADHD as well as hyperlexic–a “twice exceptional” individual–with hypermobility. My passions for the natural world, linguistics and fantasy worlds have positively influenced my career paths.

I am currently a geoscience educator, with a BSc in Biology and a MSc in Geology from California State University, Long Beach. I have been in service to Cypress and Santa Ana College for over 15 years, impacting hundreds of people in the virtual and physical classroom. I’m an advocate for neurodivergent faculty, students and staff, sharing my lived experiences with ADHD through an Earth science lens.

I’m a true self-starter and lifelong learner, and I thrive as a creative person. I am a science fiction/fantasy author. My first self published novel is Iara’s Crossing. I enjoy creating visual art as well, primarily through traditional methods. I’m best known for customizing My Little Pony toys!

In my past, I have volunteered to excavate a dinosaur, worked in retail sales, played the violin, and illustrated comic series by hand.

Traveling to other countries–in particular China and Australia–has opened my mind to cultures that are thousands of years old, and landscapes that are millions to billions of years old. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to visit these amazing places, and I’m excited to visit more!

A chatty and energetic Russian blue cat named Mochi lives with me in Southern California.

I look forward to sharing my expertise and creative talents with you! Thank you for visiting.
